Tata Power bags awards for quality initiatives

Tata Power, India’s largest integrated private power utility, has bagged two gold and something silver awards at the recently concluded Chapter Convention High quality Circle (CCQC) 2011.

The company said in a statement today it was awarded for its excellent problem-solving capabilities and factor towards quality initiatives at Jojobera thermal power station right here.

Team Achievers (MMD) and Team Prerna (CHP) were presented with gold award whereas team Black Diamond was honored with silver.

Prominent participants at the CCQC this 12 months included Durgapur Steel Plant, NTPC Singrauli, Bokaro Steel Grow, BSP Bhilai, Hindalco, Nalco, Tata Project, Tata Steel, Exide, CRUISE, Videocon and Tinplate.

CCQC not only provides a platform to the teams to showcase their ability to cope with problems by using quality control tools but also grants an opportunity to take part in many fun-filled activities namely knowledge test, poster making, composition contests, the statement said.

Applauding the efforts of the standard teams, Mr P. L. Manjrekar, Head-Jojobera Thermal Power Train station, Tata Power, said: “We are delighted to receive this particular award. Tata Power will continue its efforts towards high quality improvement and establish new industry standards. ”.
