Auto major Tata Motors eyes higher sales of Aria 4x2

Auto major Tata Motors aims to sell more units of its latest variant Aria 4x2 crossover in the coming months due to increased demand, a senior official said the company today.

"We expect to sell more number of units in the coming months ... and 'for those looking for city driving rather than a luxury ...," Tata Motors' vice president of business passengers Commercial R Ramakrishnan said after the inauguration of A new variant of the Tamil Nadu market.

The company in October 2010 revealed the 4x4 Aria built on a completely new platform which it has invested Rs 1000 crores. Since its launch, the company sold 2,000 units.

Ramakrishnan said Aria 4x2 is available in three functions limousine, and pure pleasure. "The pure model in the 4x2 is a new entry in this variant. The top-of-aria limousine 4x4. Compared to these two cars will be 16 this most prestigious pure version, "he said.

Tata Motors Regional Director (Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry and Kerala) K Vijay Menon said that the basic model with BS III version was available at Rs 11.57 lakh (ex-showroom Chennai), while the top model (BS IV version) was priced at Rs 14, 47 lakh (ex-showroom Chennai).
