Software major Microsoft Opens Development Centre in Bangalore

Major software Microsoft today launched its new research and development (R & D) facility in 1,54,000 square feet.

The facility will house the Microsoft Bangalore, India Development Center (MSIDC) team, which helps technology adCenter Microsoft Corp., and researchers from Microsoft Research India.

"For the past decade, India has been a key player in Microsoft's strategy for global co-development. Our second R & D center in Bangalore reinforces Microsoft's commitment to India," Microsoft Corp. chairman Services Online Division Qi Lu said in a statement.

Microsoft India R & D has started its operations in Hyderabad, in 1998, about 20 people and currently has more than 3900 staff, the influence of climate and the engineering of the domestic product of Microsoft Corp.

"Last April, it announced the extension of our engineering efforts in Bangalore as part of a research alliance between Microsoft Corp. and Yahoo Inc. The transition process is completed," said Qi.
