General Motors newly launches Diesel Version of Beat

U.S. automaker General Motors on Monday launched the diesel version of the car, Beat small in India at a price of Rs 429,000 of 545,000 rupees (ex-showroom, Delhi).

"Offering a diesel engine developed for Indian consumers in our most popular model is a significant achievement for the company," GM India President and CEO Karl Slym said in New Delhi after the launch of the new model.

The company launched the 1.0-liter diesel car, which was developed specifically for India's GM's technical center in Bengaluru partnership with GM Powertrain Europe. As per standard Arai, Beat the diesel offers mileage of 24 km per liter.

So far, the company has sold the beat of petrol and LPG variants.
