Revit Architecture is really a computer-aided design software package produced by Autodesk. It has both 2D and 3D elements that permit you to build a model of a proposed or current building on computer. To this end, Revit supports a variety of linetypes, and allows you to make your personal if needed. These can be used to provide a stronger visual impression of different aspects of the look. For example, different linetypes could be created and used in a 2D drawing to represent various kinds of pipes, such as hot water, sanitary and gasoline.
1. Launch Revit Architecture. Click the large purple “R” within the top left corner of the screen, then click on “Open. ” in the dialog box that seems, navigate to the directory which holds your Revit sketching, then double-click the file when you locate this.
2. Click the “Manage” tab on the bow. Locate the “Project Settings” panel. Click the “Settings” drop-down menus, then click “Line Styles. ” The Line Designs dialog box will now appear.
3. Click “New, ” then enter a descriptive name for the new line style in the text field provided - for instance “Hot Water Pipe” or “Sanitary Pipe. ”
four. Define the appearance of the line. You have three options to select from - “Line Weight” determines the thickness of the actual line, “Line Color” specifies its color and “Line Pattern” enables you to choose a pattern for the line. You may use these options to group similar objects with comparable styles; for example, you could use a dashed collection to represent pipes, with each type of pipe featuring its own color.
5. Click “OK. ” The custom linetype has become complete.
