A photograph printer is a printer that was created specifically for printing photographs. Like just about all printers, a Dell photo printer may require occasional disassembly with regards to cleaning or to replace a defective part. Disassembling a photo printer isn’t very hard, but it is a tedious process that needs care as you loosen and get rid of each component.
Instructions:
1. Unplug the Dell photo printer in the wall. Disconnect its USB cable if the first is present. Remove the photo paper in the paper tray if necessary.
2. Contact a grounded metal object, such like a metal table leg, to discharge any static electricity that could have built up to avoid harmful the printer's sensitive internal components.
3. Turn the Dell photo printer inverted. Remove the screws located on the underside of the printer using a Philips-head screwdriver. Remove any screws which may be located on the sides or back from the printer. Remove the plastic panels which were fixed in place with the anchoring screws; use a plastic prying tool when the panels aren’t easy to remove.
4. Locate the screws holding the following most visible components inside, which depends upon the Dell model photo printer you've. Some components are attached to the actual boards with ribbon cables, which are held in position with a clasp. If you must remove an element held in place with a bow, gently lift the plastic clasp holding it in position with your fingernail, then pull the actual ribbon from its slot.
5. Reassemble the photo printer by replacing the parts within the order you removed them, so how the last piece you removed is the very first you replace. Be sure to reattach all of the ribbons to their correct slots, otherwise the parts will not work correctly. Replace the screws when necessary in order to hole the components together. Once all of the components are replaced, put the panels to their correct spots and screw them as well as a screwdriver.
