Jeera costs shed Rs 63 to Rs 16, 207 per quintal in futures trade today on reduced offtake by speculators because of sluggish export and domestic demand.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Trade, jeera for delivery in October declined by Rs 63, or 0. 39, in order to Rs 16, 207 per quintal, with an open interest for 16, 788 plenty.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in September shed Rs 61, or 0. 39, in order to Rs 15, 774 per quintal, with a trading volume of 17, 859 plenty.
Analysts said sluggish export demand mainly led to the decline in jeera futures costs.
