Cardamom costs rose by Rs 5. 20 to Rs 794. 10 per kg within futures trade today as speculators created fresh positions, supported by rising demand within the spot market for the ongoing festive season.
The tight stock position within the spot market amid restricted arrivals from producing regions further fuelled the uptrend within cardamom futures prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for September shipping rose by Rs 5. 20, or 0. 66%, to Rs 794. 10 for each kg, with a business turnover of 221 lots.
October contract gained Rs four. 80, or 0. 58%, to Rs 837 per kg in 69 plenty.
Analysts said fresh buying by speculators, driven by good demand in the location market for the ongoing festive season, mainly led to the rise within cardamom future prices.
